Zoning Bylaw 1330 – a complete rewrite of an twenty year old piece of land planning law got its final airing last night at the Oliver Community Hall. Only a handful of tax payers attended.
Most, if not all, issues have been debated and resolved by council members.
Background: First and second reading given on June 25 2012. The new bylaw is quite modern in its approach of visually showing applicants what can be developed in each zone and reducing the number of planning areas (35 to 28) making it more understandable.
Some changes have been made to the M2 Industrial Zone and some restrictions on the number of spots required for Main Street parking have been altered.
Council held an open public meeting following the hearing and third reading was given to the new Zoning Bylaw. Some minor text amendments were accepted and the name of the Industrial zone was changed from”Light” Industrial to Industrial.
The new bylaw will get a final reading once approved by the Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure.
