CONDITIONS ON WHITE LAKE ROAD

The Chairman of the Regional District Dan Ashton advised the Board of public concerns regarding the size of the aggregate used on the recently resurfaced portion of the White Lake Road. As this roadway is used for Granfondo bike course, and is a well-travelled vehicle route, concerns over public safety have been expressed. The Board has approved a letter to go to the MLA and the Ministry of Transportation expressing the concerns.

Director Patton will be bringing forward a resolution to the upcoming Union of British Columbia Municipalities annual convention asking the government to legislate the prohibition of importing, exporting, and the domestic production of fruit and plant material containing GE DNA Constructs and to declare that through legislation BC is a GE Free Province in respect to all tree fruit products.
