Oliver Fire Department called out this afternoon to Deer Park north of Oliver because someone’s vehicle had too much gasoline in the tank or…so it seems.
Don’t over fill your gas tank and then have it expanded on you.
Fire Chief Dan Skaros says a fire call is very expensive to the taxpayers so do the preventative work first so that each call is a real one.
Other tips: in the hot weather gasoline expands so you may have leakage that could be a fire hazard. Gas is hard on the paint so wash it away soon as possible. Carrying more fuel than necessary adds weight which lowers mileage if you are near a fuel source everyday there is no need to fill the tank.
