The Town of Oliver has posted a legal notice stating it intends to dispose of an area of land owned by the municipality for the purpose of highway widening by the Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure 8 km north of Oliver. The notice says the land is .28 hectares in size and a published map shows the land as being a canal under the highway at that location.

The land has been assessed in value at $43,544.
