On July 4th, 2012 at 4:03PM, Oliver RCMP responded to a report of a motor vehicle collision involving a cyclist and an automobile in the 37000 block of Tucelnuit Dr., in Oliver, BC. Witnesses at the scene stated that a newer model, unregistered and uninsured, Chevrolet Impala being driven by a 37 year old Oliver male was headed south bound on Tucelnuit Dr. struck a south bound cyclist.

The cyclist, a 37 year old Penticton male, was thrown over the vehicle, landing roadside in thick brush. He was examined by EHS and declared deceased at the scene. A traffic re-constructionist has been enlisted to assist with the investigation. Alcohol is not believed to be a factor at this time.

The matter is still under investigation. Earlier report corrected in part at 11.21 am by RCMP.
