On June 25, 2012 the owner of an Oliver greenhouse reported that at some point overnight approximately $2500 worth of plants were stolen from his business. Plants were of an assorted variety including an assortment of fruit trees, some of which were left on the outside of the fence surrounding the property.

Oliver Detachment RCMP and Town of Oliver By Law are working together to deter seasonal campers from overnighting along the Okanagan River Channel. Local residents should be aware that camping in the area is not supported and complaints of overnight camping will be acted upon as staff is available.
On June 26th, 2012 an Oliver resident residing in the 400 Block of Gamay Court reported the theft of two bicycles from the carport of his residence, One of the bicycles was a white lady’s Raleigh mountain bike with wide tires, a carrier on the back and chrome handle bars. The other bicycle was a blue Kona 16″ Lanai valued at approximately $465.00.
On June 27, 2012 at approximately 01:20 AM an Oliver resident residing in the 500 Block of Church Avenue (corrected) reported returning home and finding her residence broken into. Investigation resulted in the arrest of a 41 year old male who has since been charged with Break Enter and Theft. This adult male was also wanted on two outstanding warrants out of Alberta and is expected to remain incarcerated until all outstanding matters are dealt with. Alcohol was determined to be a significant factor in the commission of this offence.
