The new manager of Heritage Services in Oliver has arrived.
Tracy Johnson told ODN Monday she has a lot to do and wants to get to work as soon as possible. Getting the buildings open is important but selecting a staff person to work with her is the first priority.
Johnson says she is hoping to open for limited hours in July in the Archives building. Wait for the annoucement.
The new heritage manager graduated in 1995 from SFU with a Bachelor of Arts in Archaeology. After working for five years in field archaeology she transferred her professional interest to museums and subsequently worked in heritage facilities in Grand Forks, Summerland and Kelowna and then on to Bend, Oregon where she was employed since 2006.
Board Chair Michael Newman says: “I hope everyone will join me in welcoming Tracy, her husband Mark Nelson and son Edward to our community,” Newman said.
