April 24, 1929 – June 12, 2012
After a full and happy life, our dear Mom passed away peacefully at Sunnybank in Oliver at the age of 83 years, on her own mother’s birthday. Predeceased by parents Frank and Alice Maltby and husband and friend Joe McKay of Burnaby, Pat leaves behind five children: Joe, Mike, Dan, Jim (Theresa) and Trish (Cal) Craik; six grandchildren: Rainbow Whiteside (Nick Berry), Erika and Ben McKay, Drew, Dalice and Carly Craik, plus daughters-in-law, treasured ‘Unca’ Tom and Auntie Lil Goode, cousins, nieces, nephews and many, many friends. Pat was a pioneer of Burnaby, attending Gilmore Avenue Elementary and Burnaby Heights secondary schools. She stayed in Burnaby until 2009 when she relocated to Oliver to be closer to two sons, daughter, and the youngest three grandchildren. Upon becoming a single parent in the 70’s, Pat enjoyed her work in the Case Reports office of the Vancouver Police Dept. until retiring in 1994. Pat was beloved by family and friends, her warm and vivacious spirit enriched the lives of everyone who knew her. We will miss her dearly. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday June 23, 2012 at Christ the King Catholic Church. Condolences and tributes may be directed to the family by visiting www.nunes-pottinger.com Arrangements entrusted to Nunes-Pottinger Funeral Service & Crematorium, Oliver & Osoyoos, BC. Pat McKay”s family would like to express our sincere appreciation to the entire staff of Sunnybank Centre for their compassionate and loving care of our dear Mom who passed away June 12, 2012. Mom found comfort and companionship at Sunnybank and appreciated all the laughter and good vibes between the residents and staff. She enjoyed many happy times these past few years, and we so much appreciate the support you provided us and the relief we had knowing our Mom was in good hands when we couldn’t be with her. Thank you to Dr. Myslek for your guidance during Mom”s declining years and thank you to Dr. Dimma and Dr.Entwistle for support and assistance while Mom journeyed home.
