The Penticton Law Courts have now set a time, place and date for a bail hearing in the case of Brian Douglas Louie, 33, charged with five criminal code offences including aggravated assault and assault causing bodily harm for an incident in May 20th in Oliver.
Louie, for the first time, appeared before the Justice of the Peace in an open court via video conferencing. He has been in the Kamloops Remand Centre since his arrest.
The hearing will be the first time that the Crown will outline part of the case against the accused in the bail hearing process. No details of the charges were released by police or crown following the incident and the acccused has been held in custody for almost a month. The five charges on the information are for more than one incident.
