Could the planes place their back-ends to the north or south and not out the gate. You will know what I mean if you do a drive by.

Some clarification: when I drove by the airport gate – the blast of the two engines came directly out the gate and I do know that some residents have commented on the noise when certain planes land and seem to test their engines by positioning the engine so that it blasts right out the public gate where cars and people walk through. Strong smell of fuel as well as the noise.
