After the past week it may be hard to believe, but it won’t be long before we’re into a long hot, DRY summer. Come to the Waterwise Gardening Workshop with Paula Rodriguez de la Vega tomorrow, Saturday, June 9th from 10:30 to 11:30 am and learn how to plan your garden to make the most of our limited rainfall. Call 485-2575 or email olivercommunitygarden@yahoo.com to pre-register
If you’re coming to the workshop and have some extra time to spare, give the Oliver Arts Council a hand with their Spring Cleanup. Volunteers will be on site from 8 am to noon. Bring your work gloves and a hat – most creative cleaning get up wins a prize!
Speaking of cleaning up, the Arts Council is also holding the Quail Garage Sale on Saturday, June 16th from 9 am to 2 pm. Helpers are needed on Friday anytime between 9 am and 8 pm for sorting and pricing and on the day of the sale. Don’t forget to drop off your good used items on Friday June 15 from 9 – 12 noon, 1 – 5 and 6 – 8 p.m. Need help moving your stuff? Want to volunteer? Call 498-0183 or emailOliverCAC@gmail.com
