1. Notice – Airport Strategic Plan to be received by Council 4pm Thursday May 31 in Council Chambers. This will be followed with a public meeting in the Elks Hall at 7pm that same day.
2. Council has endorse the idea of supporting Bill C331 – which would allow the shipment of local wines to other parts of Canada and end a restrictive trade practice that has been around since prohibition.
3. Town of Oliver Cemetery Bylaw 1315 has received 1st, 2nd and third reading calling for an increase in plot sale prices to those people not living in the Town itself. Town residents would pay $900 for a plot – all others would pay $1385. The bylaw also calls for a number of projects that will see easier maintenance.
4. The OIB – Fire Protection agreement has been modified to include the Senkulmen Industrial Park and the area of the new provincial prison. Once built this added revenue could allow for enhanced services and equipment for the Fire Department.
5. Note to residents – the new Zoning Bylaw will be debated Monday 4pm June 4th in council chambers. Regular Council meetings resume June 11.
