On May 21, 2012, at 11:04 AM, Osoyoos RCMP received a report of a Hit a Run to a 2008 Dodge Dakota. Police checked three locations that the victim vehicle had been and a witness was located. The witness saw the other vehicle and wrote down the license plate number which was provided to Police. Attempts were made to contact the other vehicle’s Registered Owner who resides in the Lower Mainland but were unsuccessful. An accident report was completed with all relevant information and sent to the vehicle owners and ICBC.
On May 25, 2012, Osoyoos RCMP officers received information of the whereabouts of a 20 year old male with numerous outstanding Arrest Warrants. Police attended at a residence on Gravenstein Drive and spoke with the home owner who allowed them access to check for the male. Police found the male hiding in a downstairs area where they arrested him on Warrant. The male resisted arrest and fled from the Police running out of the house. Police officers gave chase through neighboring yards ultimately arresting him as he attempted to climb a fence. The male and the Police officers received minor injuries from the foot chase and the male was held in custody with additional Criminal Charges for Penticton Court Monday.
On May 26, 2012, Osoyoos RCMP Members were dispatched to a report of a fight in progress at the Watermark Resort. Police attended and located a group of males who had been ejected from Hotel Security for being drunk and causing a disturbance. When asked to leave the males became belligerent. Police took custody of a Two males ages 17 and 19 who were issued Liquor Violation Tickets and turned over to their parents care.
On May 26, 2012, Osoyoos RCMP received a report that a vehicle’s passenger side window had been broken out the previous night and an IPOD had been stolen. There were no witnesses to the theft from vehicle which occurred at Osoyoos Manor on Gravenstein Drive.
On May 26, 2012, It was reported to Police that sometime over the night a scarab flat metal utility trailer had been stolen from the rear of the Wildfire Grill. The wire lock on the trailer had been cut so the thieves could steal the trailer.
On May 26, 2012, at approximately 6:30 PM a Police Officer on Patrol was advised by a member of the public of a drunk male walking down the middle of Main St almost getting struck by vehicles passing by. The Police Officer located the intoxicated 51 year old male passed out on the side walk of Main St near 85th St. As the male was not able to care for himself he was arrested for being intoxicated in a public place and lodged cells until sober.
