A serious aggravated assault occurred over the weekend on the Osoyoos Indian Band land.

RCMP will only say that a male suspect is now in custody awaiting a court appearance and no further details are being released at this time.

ODN is aware of the victim and the person in custody but names will not be released until given in court.

This report supplied by a reader: “I was just wondering why there has been no reports of the brutal beating of ______ at a house located on the OIB reserve this past weekend.  I have been checking the news… and nothing has been reported.  Like how she was fighting for her life in surgery after she was beaten by _________.  She is still in hospital.  Suspect has been only taken into custody this Tuesday evening at his mothers house.  You will need to confirm all these facts but I think the people deseve to know what happened.”
