Linda is an entirely self taught artist and has loved art since childhood. The unmistakable passion Linda feels for the natural world emerge visibly in her artwork, as does her pride in her ancestral heritage. Her medium is acrylic painted on objects such as rock, stone, pebbles, slate, wooden lids, spoons, boxes, skulls, bone, natural hide drums, canvas and feathers.
Linda Anderson – “I am member of the Osoyoos Indian Band. I was born in 1962 in Oliver & I grew up surrounded by the beautiful Okanagan Valley. I am a daughter, sister, cousin, niece, wife, mother & grandmother”.
Painting on feathers is her specialty. Linda’s patience and attention to detail are evident in the beautiful images she creates on nature’s delicate canvas. Items such as beads, shells, horse hair, rabbit fur, antler, porcupine quills, handmade papers, and small decorative feathers are used to compliment and finish unique one of a kind art pieces.
Unlike many paintings, which are best viewed from a distance, these intricate pieces are best viewed up close and personal. Many viewing her artwork for the first time compliment the detailed artwork, then exclaim in surprise, seeing the feather second. Linda’s unique creations are owned by collector’s throughout Canada, the U.S.A & overseas.
