Oliver firemen battled a large blaze for most of the night at the old Sunnybank Rest Home at 6061 Kootenay Street (behind the Field’s Building). The intense blaze was knocked down in about two hours according to one fireman.

Fire scene this morning – Fire crews tired and off to bed or work. Emergency services invoked to take care of those homeless. Further details on that as the morning progresses. OFD still mopping up.
