Deborah Johnson lives in the 5700 block of Sawmill Rd right across the road from a nature preserve and wants the neighbourhood to stay quiet and peaceful. Johnson, a member of the custodial staff at School District #53 says the neighbours are interested in clean industry across the street – not noisy, dusty, unsafe operations.
Johnson says the area where a gravel crushing operation has been going on east of the airport is inappropriate for the residential area.
“It is very clear to me and other concerned citizens that this is not the place for a highly polluting land use” and “I do feel that the health and well being of my numerous neighbours and myself should rank at least close to that of a frog or a plant”.
