Rain and snow melt combined for a surge in the creek that flows under the Mt. Baldy Lodge on Thursday afternoon. With snow and ice dams holding water back, water was building up behind the lodge, and spilling over the main road to the village. Baldy resident Randal Smith worked his excavator and loader for several hours last night, and fortunately the lodge is fine, and the road damage is minimal.
