From Rick Irvine: Just came up McKinney (Mt Baldy) Road. About 5 KM up from Oliver the creek has washed over it in 5 different places and covered it with rocks. It is undermining the pavement and in one place half the pavement is gone with less than one lane left intact. The road is not passible for any low clearance vehicles. Too many large boulders strewn across the pavement.
Argo Road Maintenance crews, Town of Oliver manpower, local firemen, OIB maintenance personnel along with contractors working late this afternoon to curb a rising waterway – Wolf Cub Creek that runs down Camp McKinney Road, through the reservation and the town before spilling into the Okanagan River.
Town crews placing extra soil in the alley north of McKinney Road in town and some debris clean up has taken place. The Creek appears to be going down. Oliver Fire Department crews requested to man the creek while crews work elsewhere.
OIB crews and a contractor working on a culvert near Sen Pok Chin school to get more capacity – some flooding there. Creek running high further up. The break in the road above the “flats” in the ranch country. Location not specifically known but about three miles from the cattle guard at the hospital on the way to Baldy.
Some road flooding on the highway south of Oliver but Testalinda Creek looks good at this time.
