On April 18th, 2012 Police received a report of a theft from a summer property on Lakeshore Drive. Floodlights, a black and yellow leaf blower, and a gas can were stolen over the last 2 weeks. The items were left beside a shed and were not locked up.
On April 18th, 2012 the Osoyoos RCMP received multiple phone calls about four cows wandering around on 87th St by 92nd Ave. Police attended and spoke with the owners of the cows which had knocked over their fence near the Osoyoos Landfill and had been chased into Town by a dog. After a couple of hours the cows were herded out of town.
On April 18th, 2012 at 6:34 am, Police received a report of mischief to several vehicles on 78th Ave. A black 2004 Toyota Corolla, a green 1996 Ford Taurus, a grey 2007 Honda Accord, a grey 2010 Ford F-350, and a grey 2008 Toyota Tundra, had the rear passenger side windows smashed out and items inside strewn about. Neighbors heard a car alarm and load bangs at approximately 4:00 am. A male approximately 5’10”, broad shoulders wearing a black hoodie and light pants was seen in the area.
On April 21st, 2012 at approximately 1:50 pm, an Osoyoos RCMP member conducted a traffic stop of a brown 1988 Jaguar XJ6. The driver did not have a driver’s licence and was a Vehicle Impound candidate. The vehicle did not have insurance and had the wrong licence plate on it. As a result the 29 year old female driver was issued Violation Tickets for No Driver’s Licence, No Insurance, and Wrong Number Plate. The Jaguar was impounded for a 7 day period.
On April 21, 2012, RCMP Members were dispatched to a fight in progress on 89th Street. Police found two intoxicated males bleeding with ripped clothing who had been fighting. BC Ambulance was called to assess one male while the other was arrested for Causing a Disturbance and was lodged in cells. Both parties declined to press charges as they are friends.
On April 22, 2012, at 2:00 am, Osoyoos RCMP were called to a report of several people fighting in front of the Owl Pub. One male was assessed by BC Ambulance at the scene for minor injuries from being punched and later released. Both males stated the fight was consensual therefore no charges were laid. Another male at the Pub stated that he was punched but did not know by whom. Police dispersed the large crowd from the Pub.
