SOSS has been placed in the predicament of planning and executing a Grad Plan with far less volunteers than a normal year – and all that without a “whole” school.

The small administration staff met last night with Grade 12 students and their parents to find the volunteers to make it all work from chair lifters, hall decorators, video takers to chaperones for the annual road trip that follows a commencement ceremony. The plan to use up the week but have it done by 11 pm on Friday night.

About a hundred people showed up at the High School Atrium for the meeting Thursday.

Grade 12 Parents will decorate the arena Monday June 25, June 26 and June 27

Grade 11 Parents will decorate the community hall June 26  and June 27 for the “Last Supper”

June 27th Wednesday 5:30 pm Last Supper at Community Hall with Scholarships and Bursaries awards following in same venue at 7:00 pm

June 28th Thursday will be a busy day for grads with photos, gowns, rehearsals with commencement ceremony at 7:00 in the Oliver Arena

After that Grade 12 students travel to Omak for Bowling, Cour d’Alene for breakfast and Silverwood Theme Park for all of Friday – back in Oliver at 11:00 pm

Another big job is moving chairs between the Community Hall and the Arena after the “Last Supper” Wednesday.
