Bear with me this is a true tale next to a tall chimney. Earlier this week the Oliver Fire Department was called to SOSS on a report that smoke was coming from the chimney shown above. Most people would believe this is part of the old school with some desire to get rid of all this concrete and get on with the new school construction.

It seems the bunker below the chimney is used to house an emergency power generator for the new school and it malfunctioned in some fashion emitting smoke to the sky above.

In most of these stories – there are more questions than answers:

Has the school district decided to remove the chimney? No
Will all the concrete around the chimney and bunker be removed? Not sure
Has the government approved the school plans and are we ready to construct a new school? Not by anything anyone is saying?
Will the new school be ready for the fall of 2013? Well that might take crews working 24 hours a day.
