The Oliver Kiwanis Club has been given the go ahead to build a Band-shell at the Community Park.
Larry Larson made a presentation Monday at the Society’s regular board meeting saying the club is wilingl to front the entire cost of a $70 thousand dollar facility. It will likely be built on the south centre of the park near the water pump and restrooms facing northward. It has to be supplied electricity only and local contractors have agreed to help with site preparation. The surface will mainly be stucco says Larson.
Mayor Ron Hovanes says it will be a real showpiece for the community. It will have a stage dimension of about 40 feet across and could be ready by spring 2013.
