I am sending you this picture as a wake up call to the people concerned about the National Park Concept.
I would like to post a series of pictures and notes to show the need to develop a holistic thinking and researching of the Okanagan Valley and the Grassland Areas by the interested public.
This picture reminds me of an old saying. A hole clear through to China. It will take millions of dollars of taxpayer’s moneys to pay for the blasting and filling of the mine shafts and drifts left by the Fairview Miners. This particular mine has a shaft 19.5 meters deep, an audit (tunnel) 60 meters long, complete with a narrow gauge rail for the cars to carry out the ore. Four more adits in the vicinity. I have a list of 230 mines in my data base, all within the proposed park boundaries.
A concern not being expressed by others is the cost of establishing a park which will be astronomical and paid for by taxpayer.
