The South Zone Champions were crowned last night for Sr. Girls Basketball and it was the SOSS Hornets who captured the title with a score 58-39, and capped their undefeated league record.

It was a solid team defensive performance behind strong shooting from Ashley McGinnis with 23 pts., followed closely with Jessa Kriesel who added 21, and was also top rebounder with 13 boards.   They now travel to Kamloops to proudly represent their school at the Valley Championships Feb. 22.

For the 5 seniors on the team – Ashley McGinnis, Emily Jentsch, Jessa Kriesel, Sumy Brar and Rory Lodge it also marked the last game they would play at home , and what a way to close. Their hard work and persistence, along with the strong play being given by their younger teammates has brought them one step closer to the Provincial Tournament held in early March.
