Dale Bousfield
December 20, 1969 – January 18, 2012
It is with great sadness we announce that on January 18, 2012, Dale John Bousfield of Oliver passed away peacefully at home in his sleep at the age of 42 years. Dale will always be remembered by his loving family and friends: father John (Jack) Bousfield; his sisters Gloria (Cor) Vermeulen and Yvonne Dodd of Kaslo, BC; nephew Shane (Robyn) Vermeulen and their children Sara and Keira of Williams Lake, BC; nieces Marnie (Mike) Grant and their children Jadyn and Aliya of Williams Lake, Natasha (Ken) Austin and their children Jacob and Colton Chymko, Makenna, Ryder and Tyson Austin, Desiree Gevers of Kaslo, BC and Richard Simmons Jr., Dale’s best friend since childhood who has always been there for Dale as well as many extended family and countless friends. He was predeceased by his mother Mary Bousfield in 2004. Dale was born at St. Martin’s Hospital in Oliver and lived in Oliver until his passing. He attended SOSS and after graduation he worked various jobs. His last job was with Ruhland Construction until he was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis at the age of 27. Dale never let the disease take over his life. He loved hunting and fishing especially buck camp with his friends, watching Nascar Racing on TV at Duane and Teresa’s on Sunday’s (he loved Teresa’s cooking). Dale and Tia (his dog) would be seen most everyday going to town to meet with friends for coffee or lunch on Fridays with Richard. Dale was a member of the Oliver Fire Department. He was honoured with a Life Membership which he was very proud of. He also belonged to the Oliver/Osoyoos Search and Rescue and Kobau Mountain Men (black powder). Dale’s family would like to thank all his friends for their help and always being there for him. A celebration of Dale’s life will be held at 11:00 A.M.
