The SOSS Sr. Girls say thank you and

good-bye to Spencer McKay

 

Throughout his stay this winter visiting his parents , Spencer McKay has unselfishly donated his time to many of the basketball teams at the school, the Senior Girls included.

What an opportunity to have such a wealth of knowledge and skill helping in the development of these young athletes.

Combined with his annual basketball camp where he brings his group of professional athletes to town, he is truly a fine example of man who gives back to his community.

And it was 32 years ago as a grade 12 (’81) student I was helped by his father Roger, who as then the high school counselor,  who co-signed for a $1000 bank note so I could start my first commercial venture . Quite an extraordinary belief he placed in me as a seventeen year old.  I haven’t looked back since.

So to both McKay’s ,  and warm felt thank you !
