Christine Ammeter of Oliver passed away on Saturday, December 24, 2011 after a brief illness at the age of 93 years. Mourning her passing are her brother James (Margaret) Hansen of Calgary AB, nieces Trudy (Erwin) Weiler of Oliver, BC, Leony (Bill) Baldwin of Spokane Valley, WA, and Vreny (Dave) Swanson of Penticton, BC, as well as many other nieces and nephews in Manitoba and the Fraser Valley area. Christine was predeceased by her husband Frommhold Ammeter, her parents Olaf and Grace Hansen, and her sister Beatrice Hansen. Christine was employed as a bookkeeper at St. Martin’s Hospital, Oliver, and was also a homemaker. In Summerland, BC she was a member of the Faith Rebekah Lodge #32 and was twice Honoured Royal Lady for the Royal Purple. She was also Captain of the Land Rangers (Girl Guides) in Oliver, BC. A memorial service held on Thursday, January 5th. at Nunes-Pottinger Funeral Chapel, with the Reverend Heather Burton officiating. Interment to follow in Summerland Canyon View Cemetery.
