John Nagy passed away peacefully at McKinney Place on Saturday December 24, 2011 at the age of 79 years. Mourning his passing are his loving wife Margit, his three daughters Suzi (Mike) Goode, Klare Nagy, and Emma (Lorne) Hornby, and his grandchildren Jolene Nagy and Matthew and Michael Hornby. John was predeceased by his grandson Benjamin.
John was born in the town of Bak, in Zala Megye, Hungary. He immigrated to Canada in 1957, and he and Margit married a year later in November 1958. The Nagy’s moved to Oliver in 1988, where John became the owner and sausage maker at Willowbrook Meats. John enjoyed spending his leisure time fishing or at the Legion, the Elks and the Welcome Inn. A funeral service was held on Friday December 30 at 2:00 p.m. in the Nunes-Pottinger Funeral Chapel, with the Rev. Ray Turner, officiating. Burial in the Oliver Municipal Cemetery followed.
