The Town of Oliver will pick up the tab for a ride home for any employee attending a town function or representing the town at a function???

That is absurd. In these times of economic belt tightening and moral reflection, our brand new council and mayor heartily endorse a policy that suggests municipal officials from Oliver may imbibe to their hearts content and receive a lift home at the expense of the voters. Do you also get an expensed ride back to get your vehicle the next day or do you get an expensed ride to the function knowing you’ll be too blasted to drive home later?

Lets show a little professionalism and class here councillors: shall we?

We can forgive rookie councillor Dave Mattes for his good, albeit naive, intentions, however, the resultant policy makes Oliver appear as a shameless laughing stock of closet drunks.

This new policy does, however, make our once scorned wonderful firefighters seem like a bunch of temperance unionists!

Can we impeach a council?? How about an annulment???
