The Hornets came out strong to a 42-24 half time lead in the opener of a Sr. Girls Tourney in Penticton. The Lakers closed the gap to with minutes left to 10, and after some Penticton quick three pointers the score became very tight . The Hornets battled on to preserve a win that finished with an exciting conclusion, 65-64. This closed a 5 year chapter of competitive games for most of the players from Oliver and Penticton , that now move to finish their high school careers in their “AAA” and “AA” leagues . For the Hornets it is their third straight win over “AAA” teams.
Today Oliver meets another “AAA” team from Sequam in the second round in Penticton at 3:45pm at the Pen Hi gym.
The Hornets solid play now has them in 8th place in the BC rankings , with record of 8-1
Go Hornets Go!!!
