A late model Ford pickup – spun out of control into a deep pit just off Highway 97 – north of Oliver at Leighton Crescent. The truck rolled over a number of times trapping two persons inside. One women and one male driver rescued by Oliver Fire Department crews and transported to SO General Hospital by ambulance crews. Not known what happened exactly as road conditions were good with no ice visible in the area. The accident 9:45 a.m. Thursday. Road was closed for about an hour in the morning and then again in the afternoon when the truck was towed out of the pit. Injuries were reported as being serious but not life threatening.
