The final curling event of 2011 promises to be a good one, and we are once again pleased to invite you and your friends to join us. If you are so inclined, you can even take a try at throwing a curling rock and winning a turkey. The Oliver Curling Centre turkey shoot has been going on for many years and although some of the contestants change, the contest remains the same – throw three rocks and the get points for how close you are to the button, and the most points wins a turkey. There are only 10 contestants in each shoot, so your chances of winning are pretty good. I mean, it looks so easy on TV that anyone can probably get that rock close…
There are contests for beginners and for hot shots, so your chances are even better if you are a novice. And there are a couple of ham shoots for those of you who already have your turkey. And of course, there is the socializing and meeting and greeting that always make our small town curling centre so much fun.
We hope to see you there, but if you cannot make it, then please know that we wish you and yours a very Merry Christmas. And thanks for your support.
