‎”She is Awake” – they took out the breathing tube and chest tube. And started her on ALL the transplant meds.

Brittany Michaud was awoken late Friday night from an induced coma after her heart transplant surgery.

The 6 hour operation occurred Thursday at St. Paul’s with parents Bernie and Shawna close by.

Tubes were removed and Brittany was concious and speaking around midnight. She is weak but looking forward to a return soon to Ronald Macdonald House.

In theory she could come home Oliver within a week but long term will have to be in Vancouver most of three months to ensure a full recovery.
