As I sat on my old wooden chair – publishing the ODN – I was struck by the feeling that I was being shaken by the furnace, a car outside or something.

Must have been at 5:09 am when others in the northwest felt the same wave. Most will have been happily snoring away in bed. Epicenter in Washington state 87 km south of Penticton near Omak. No damage reported.

Did you get woken up by the earthquake this morning?
Seemed to go on a long time but heard on Spokane news it was magnitude 4.0 centered near Omak. We sure felt it.  Woke me up.  Sophie & I quite freaked during the shaking.  Gary just wants to sleep.
