A report from finance staff at the Town of Oliver has been released to the press and indicates that 2011 revenue should be close to projections.
The amount of water consumed by all domestic water users is higher than predicted but lower than in previous years. The report outlined that the cost of putting all the meters in the ground and installing twin systems to separate farm vs domestic cost almost 5 million dollars – most of it provincial government grants.
More specific details will be released at Monday’s council meeting.
Revenue figures have been estimated to bring in about 3% more revenue that anticipated and would be used to fund water reserves/pay down debt.
