This is an election time – some called it the “silly season” when politicians knock on doors, put up signs, print brochures and smile alot. After the election – those chosen get to work trying to solve local problems.

Oliver Daily News is something different for our community. It allows you to challenge the Mayor, comment on issues, take any politicians to task. BUT PLEASE – have the courage to use your own name when you want to insult someone. Any freedom here is granted. You have walked into my business, my store, my house and I have the right to kick you out. And I have done that to people who have stepped over the line.

There are many issues in the 2011 civic election, water rates, street naming, economic growth, the look of downtown, the future of the airport – so let us talk about the issues freely but please don’t insult my intelligence.
