Editorial Rant

Yesterday a reader accused me of supporting one candidate for Mayor over another. I am not. Both candidates have been Mayor while I was an elected Councillor. Both I consider friends. Both I am treating fairly. I would ask the reader to look at the hundreds of posts in the past year and ask – is this guy not supporting his community?

ALL candidates have been asked to use Oliver Daily News to get their word out – FREE – each one in their own way have submitted material in the post section and the comment section to get their point across. I do not plan to try to control input. It is up to the public, the readers, the customers and the commentators to use ODN for its intended purpose. The mayoralty candidates have posted their submissions and the reaction has been tepid – we move on now to other things – but next week the councillors get a chance to say their piece. No candidate will honestly tell you ODN has been unfair to them. All have been asked to submit. All have had their picture taken and used.

There is no bias. There is no conflict. But tongues will wag.
