After more digging, I’ve found (in addition to the 1958 Okana Qen I mentioned before), good copies of 1959 and 1960. Brenda doesn’t want to donate hers, but you can have mine.
I also have my own grad year 1953 edition, made in the shop with plywood covers, a metal SOHS badge tacked to the cover, and Gestetner duplicated innards. If you already have one, I’d like to keep mine, but if not, it’s yours. In that year, the annual was called the S.O. Hi-Lites. Rosie Franz (from Osoyoos as I was) was the editor, Margaret Briscall, Assistant Editor (remember her mom, Kay Briscall, secretary at OES during Rudy Guidi’s tenure?), Barbara Gregory, Secretary-Treasurer, and Aina Dsirlank, my classmate and also from Osoyoos, Art director. Sylvia MacIntosh was the Student Council President that year, Fred Vanhoorn the VP. The school was divided into four Houses, each with a captain or whatever, those being: Neptune (Alex MacLennan), Mercury (Marjorie Pugh), Venus (Lorna Deighton), Saturn (Wayne Neilson–from Bridesville, but living in Osoyoos). Shirley Orr was President of Fine Arts, and Bob MacNaughton, Athletic president. The year I graduated, Charlie Roberts was the 9E Junior Students’ Council Rep, Arlene McKinley for 7B. “The Junior Students’ Council has sponsored a Peanut Sale the proceeds of which went to the Oliver Rotary Club.” Cec Ritchie was principal, Ed Reid Vice Principal. John Boone was Chief Prefect (also my classmate, and don’t you ever call me petit enfant again, John!). Other classmates included Ron Worth, Joan Roberts, George Bowering and many others. End of report.
