In just a few short weeks Oliver Parks & Recreation staff and volunteers will once again transform the Community Hall into a Halloween Carnival & entertainment zone for the whole community to enjoy.
We have lots of new game ideas and props to use this year as well as the SOSS LINK Crew coming down to build and man the annual Haunted House in the Pool facility!
Volunteers are essential to making this event happen. From bringing boxes of spooky stuff into the hall, to decorating the “bat cave”, to operating game booths the night of the event – putting this cherished event on for Oliver & Area C residents of all ages is something special to be a part of and I invite you to be on our event team this Halloween.
Here is when volunteer help is needed the most:
Friday, Oct 28 1:00-5:00pm (Unloading props, decorations, booths etc. into the Hall, basic set up & decorating)
Monday October 31st 9:00am-2:00pm (Final touches on decorating and final game booth set up)
5:30-8:00pm (Volunteers needed to operate game booths and fill leadership roles at event)
Tuesday Nov 1 9:00-12noon (Removal of all props, equipment etc. back into storage)
Please let me know if and when you are available to help out and feel free to pass this message on to anyone you think may be interested in volunteering before or during the event. Volunteers must be 13 years or older and we are asking volunteers to dress up in costume for the Scareview event.
Thanks and hope to hear from you. – Carol Sheridan
