Well it’s hockey time again with the south Okanagan Bantam Rep Thunder team starting off another season with 2 big wins. Saturday Oct 1st the Thunder hosted Summerland with its season opener at the Osoyoos Sunbowl arena, with the Thunder coming out on top with a 7 to 1 victory, Goaltender Ryan Grgich played steller in the net making some big saves keeping Summerland’s offence from scoring 1 goal. It was an action packed hard hitting game, Josh Windley got the big hat trick scoring 3 goals, Keenan Holz 2 goals, Brett Herrick 1 goal and Jaymin Dias 1 goal, assists came from Derek Launier, Taylor Pendergraft and Quinten Murr.
On Sunday Oct 2 the Thunder squad travelled to Kelowna and shut down Kelowna’s offence winning 5 to 0, Tristen Baptist-Hall played a great game making some key saves and getting a shutout. Keenan Holz led the scoring with 2 goals, Josh Windley 1 goal, Brett Herrick also scoring 1 goal. Assisting was Derek Launier, and Quinten Murr.
Next league play the thunder travels to Kamloops for a double header October 8th and 9th.
