n Wednesday September 21 Domingos da Ressurreicao Barreira of Oliver passed away peacefully after a short illness surrounded by family at the Penticton Regional Hospital age 84 years. He was predeceased by his grandson Jason; his sisters Coltilde, Anna, Corina and brothers Casmiro and Antonio. Domingos is survived by his loving wife Isabel; his nine children and twelve grandchildren: Tony (Alex) and Natasha, Katrina and Angelina; Joe (Beatrice) and Melinda and Jenny (Mitch); Alcino ; Manuel (Louise); Walter; Silvio (Kim) and Darren and Tyler: Cas (Sharon) and Brady; Maria (Don) and Kiera and Dennis; Dave (Michele) and Shelby and Brandon. Domingos worked in Germany and then moved to Osoyoos, where he worked as a farmer until moving to Oliver. He continued to work on the farm and began a greenhouse business with Isabel. Domingos looked forward every year to the annual family fishing and camping trip. He spoke often of visiting Portugal to attend the festival in Gralhos. Domingos loved fishing, hunting, walking, spending time in his vineyard and garden, time with family and friends sipping a glass of his homemade wine. Every festival in Portugal was a reason to get family together. Prayers were recited at Sunday September 25, 2011 at Christ the King Catholic Church. Mass of Christian burial was held Monday. Interment and committal to follow at the Oliver Municipal Cemetery.
