Baldy skiers and staff volunteered their time this Sunday cutting brush on the second of three work parties. The alder has grown considerably on the lower slopes at Baldy, and the goal is to give it a good trim to facilitate earlier opening of the ski area. With brush saws and loppers the lower shaft was completed today, and good progress was made up toward Dividend, on Ponderosa, and lower “Rock Star”.
The volunteers were from the Lower Mainland, Kelowna, Kaleden, Penticton, Rock Creek, and Oliver. Some families were represented by three generations, and the age span was more than 70 years.
Work party #3 is scheduled for Thanksgiving Sunday morning – Oct. 9th, when the village is pretty much full.
For those who missed the Summer Season Pass sale, the Early Bird Discount is available on line and at OK Tire until October 2nd.
