I understand that my husband, Harold Lang, emailed regarding trying to gather materials related to the history of the school so as to restock the historian files. I would like to clarify what these items were.
The school historian collection included items such as:
Yearbooks (1 to 2 copies) from almost every year of operation
Graduation rockery and composite pictures from every year
Graduation slides/videos/DVD’s
Slides from school events such as spring fling, Bowron Lake canoe trips, June hikes, Geography trips, plays, concerts etc.
Large box of yet to be organized photos
Small albums of events such as the building of the music room
Small and large block letter award samples that were once given out for athletics, citizenship etc.
Programs from music and drama events
Copies of student publications such as “poetica” and the “quill’
The list can go on and on. All of this was lost. It had been relocated to the new bookroom which was in the upper level of the old gym. Many of these items were the source of the older graduation composites that were in the hallway. The Oliver archives took only the photos that hung in the hallways.
It would be nice to try and rebuild some of these great examples of students past.
Thank you
Mrs. Philomena Lang
