A 1920’s small town Okanagan themed indoor market designed for the tourist industry that offers low overhead to small start up businesses using an existing empty structure.
A newly formed company would be responsible for all building maintenance, lease management, construction, security, vendor selection and event coordination.
Some examples of vendors and services include:
Old time photography – Pocket Desert’s- Rogue’s Gallery Old Time Photo Parlor
Antique buy & sell & consignment – Pocket Desert‘s- Antiques with a yearly antique auction
Ice cream, candy and souvenir sales – Old time confectionary
Ornamental Iron boutique – Local Blacksmith Dave Holt
Tee-shirt and iron-on sales – Featuring “Bang On” shirts. Service provided by Pocket Desert apparel
6 to 8 closable secure booths for small local businesses – Local artisans: Fruits and vegetables, Potters, Blacksmiths etc.
Food court with coffee house setting offering Wi-Fi – After hours the venue could be used for mid-sized events (weddings,
small stage acts)
Government approved commercial cooking facility – Available for rental to vendors or caterers for food preparation
An example of a building is the closed Buy-Low store located in Oliver which could have overhead doors installed along Hwy 97 to add an open air option.
