People with surgical gloves and 3 vehicles in front of a house on the reserve on Mount Baldy Road (McKinney)

Passed police cars coming down hill towards town.

Several unmarked police cars off to the side of Camp McKinney  Rd at about 10K up

Earlier there were people down on the ground with handcuffs on at this location.

Incident reported at 5:12pm Wednesday

Above confirmed this morning independent of first report by local resident. Towns folk abuzz this morning with speculation about the amount of police activity in last 24 hours.

2nd Report

Big RCMP operation on McKinney Rd today (Wednesday) I guess my neighbour had to wait an hour or so to come home from work.

Two roadblocks, one by the OIB Community Hall and another on Gallagher’s Hill.

3rd Report

Drugs and cars being seized about 2 miles from cattle guard at gas station

4th  Report – vehicles seized and transported to Oliver for secure storage

Inquires made with RCMP – no response yet. RCMP are promising details later today and have indicated the operation was conducted by the IBET unit out of Osoyoos – the Integrated Border Enforcement Team (s) – which is a joint USA/Canada police unit.

I personally drove to the area at last light on Wednesday evening and one vehicle pulled over, two police cruisers in the area about 10 kms up. Later spotted expensive car being transported down hill followed by a string of  vehicles (not identified as police vehicles) that all parked at local detachment.
