A 100+ acre parcel of ALR land in the Shrike Hill area off McKinney road will go the Commission for a final decision.
Applicants Brian Strobbe, Bev Leclerc and Mark Schroeder own the land but want to subdivide about one half of the land (23 hectares) off for for farm purposes leaving a hilly piece as a separate parcel. (20 hectares). The purpose being to clarify ownership.
The Area Planning Commission agreed with the idea as long as a covenant is signed saying all the land must stay in the Reserve (ALR). The application will go to the RDOS again and then be forwarded to the provincial agency prior to final approval of the subdivision.
Earlier at the RDOS board level Area C Director asked that the parcel stay together. As the Zoning Bylaw says it can be subdivided he was outvoted 7 to 1 – necessitating a referral to the APC for comment.
