Poor weather in the morning, some confusion on parking and where to go, many making jokes about the new situation, first day back to school wasn’t expected to be a great day. Luckily all the students were first greeted by the great people from Valley First, handing out school supplies such as binders, papers, pencils, etc.
I want to personally thank all those who waited out there to hand out things, and to the Credit Union itself for supplying us with all these great things. I know both staff and students appreciated this act of kindness. With a moment in each class talking briefly about the disaster last Monday, we all quickly went back to work trying to catch up on a weeks worth of homework, aside from the portables, it was just a regular class day. Hopefully we can occupy the new parts in a few weeks, and more portables are on their way. There was some confusion, and will continue to be at breaks/lunch for places for students to go. Aside from these small problems, it was like nothing really happened, everyone adapted smoothly to the changes. I just hope we get heaters for the portables this winter.
The Senior Field Hockey girls tied Summerland Monday O-O and will be going to UBC this weekend for a tournament, if all goes well, they will have a home game here the weekend after that.
