S.O.S.S. girls field hockey took 2 teams and their community coach, Ian Gibson, to a tournament in Castlegar this weekend. S.O.S.S. 1 (green team) won 3 out 4 games played, and S.O.S.S. 2 (white team) played excellently as well. Even with the tragedies of the past week, the girls were all in good spirits and played with incredible focus and determination. The only challenging part of the weekend was an unfortunate mechanical problem with the bus that added an extra 4 hours to the journey home.
S.O.S.S. 1 (green team) have their next game scheduled Monday Sept. 19th at the school field against Summerland, and are planning a trip to UBC in Vancouver for another tournament Thursday Sept. 22nd to Saturday Sept. 24th. Both teams will also be hosting their own tournament scheduled for the end of the month.
Please feel free to come out and support our girls as spectators or join in their fundraising efforts by bringing bottle recycling to S.O.S.S. field between 3pm and 5pm Monday or Tuesday.
