The outpouring of grief and emotion has been gutwrenching and cathartic for us all. The loss of SOSS brought forth feelings that show that our school was a special place in the hearts of so many people in our community, across Canada and indeed around the world.
Now that we are part way through the grieving process we need to be frank and ask some questions. For example, where was the security? There is no doubt that the fire was set –how did the arsonists have enough time? How long was the East wing of the school left unattended? Why was it unattended at all? If the security had been done properly, our school would still be there.
